The 1700 miles of public rights of way across Warwickshire are important for enjoying and exploring our countryside and urban areas as well as for travelling to work or school and for our health & wellbeing. They are part of what makes Warwickshire a special place to live, work and enjoy.

The Resourcing to Risk public consultation is now live and will stay open until 10 March 2024. You can find all the background material on the consultation website, which is www.warwickshire.gov.uk/ask. As well as information about the need for change, it has more detail on the proposed model, on-call availability data and response times.

Everyone’s views matter

We would like to promote the consultation to all our stakeholders, which includes the public, our partners, suppliers, businesses, town and parish councils, etc. So please help us spread the message and share this in your newsletters, on social media and any other communication channels you use.

It is very important to us that everyone has a chance to give us their feedback. We would like to encourage members of the public, who live or work in Warwickshire, to take time to read all the information on the consultation website, and complete the online survey, which includes an opportunity to give general feedback or comments as well as answering the fixed questions.

Once the survey closes, we’ll collate all the feedback and use it to inform our future delivery approach.

Information sessions

We are holding five events in the new year – one each in Stratford, Kenilworth, Atherstone, Bedworth and Southam – to give the public an opportunity to learn more about the proposals. Places at the events must be booked and tickets went live last week on our Eventbrite page.  Again, it would be fantastic if you could help promote these sessions.

The sessions are as follows:

• Stratford on Wednesday 17^th Jan 24 at 6.30pm
• Kenilworth on Wednesday 24^th Jan 24 at 6.30pm
• Bedworth on Monday 29^th Jan 24 at 6.30pm
• Atherstone on Thursday 8^th Feb 24 at 6.30pm
• Southam on Tuesday 27^th Feb 24 at 6.30pm

The proposal is changing the way we respond to emergencies and provide fire cover in Warwickshire. It is important to ensure that our residents are fully aware of the proposal and have an opportunity to voice their views and share concerns.

A guide to help you stay safe and warm this winter 2023/24

What is HUG2 funding for?

Through UK government Help to Heat schemes, Stratford on Avon District Council is delivering the second phase of the Home Upgrade Grant scheme – also known as ‘HUG2’.

HUG2 provides energy efficiency measures and low carbon heating to low-income households living in the worst performing, off-gas grid homes in England.

The scheme aims to improve the warmth and comfort of homes that do not have mains-gas heating, whilst also reducing energy bills, carbon emissions and levels of fuel poverty across the District.

Eligible households could receive free energy efficiency improvements (such as insulation and draughtproofing) or clean heating (such as solar PV or air source heat pumps) for their homes. Eligible homes will receive a free assessment by a retrofit expert to determine the most suitable measures.

Who is eligible?

You could be eligible if you:

• Don’t have gas central heating
• Have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) of D, E, F or G
• Have a combined annual household income under £31,000 (gross)

Find out more about EPCs and whether your property has a valid certificate on the GOV.UK website. If you are eligible for the grant but don’t have an existing EPC, this will be arranged for you at no cost.

How do I apply?

Act on Energy are supporting Stratford on Avon District Council for the HUG2 programme, providing the main point of contact for enquiries and processing applications.

September 2022 Update:

The new basket ball hoop has been installed and is ready to use!

Phase 2 – Playground Project Complete!

August 2022 Update:

Radway now boasts a large area for multi-purpose use at the back of the Village Hall. The area has been re-surfaced with a safety surface wet-pour, there is an outdoor table tennis table, and a new basket ball hoop will be installed in September 2022.

Phase 1 – New Toddler Play Area Complete!

November 2019 Update:

Radway’s new toddler area is complete and contains the following new pieces of equipment.

1. A multi play unit which has a tunnel, slide and many other little components (including DDA approved steps to make it an inclusive piece of equipment)
2. A Fire truck for imaginative play
3. A manipulative play panel
4. A new roundabout
