As part of Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Services ongoing fire prevention work, we carry out a free and valuable service that you and your parishioners may not know about. This service is called a ‘Safe and Well Check’.
These checks include fire safety information to help keep residents safe. If they have smoke detectors, we will check they are working and sited correctly. If not, we will fit new smoke detectors where required Free of Charge.
The areas in which Warwickshire Fire and Rescue have carried out Safe & Well checks have seen a reduction in accidental dwelling fires, and we would like to continue this trend in your parish.
We have already fitted free smoke detectors and given advice to many people in your area. If you or someone you know would like a free Home Fire Safety visit.
Please call Leamington Spa Headquarters on 01926 466282 or Gaydon Fire Station on 01926 413478.
HUG2 could help reduce your fuel bills.
The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero has just announced that the household income threshold for these grants has increased to £36,000.
If you don’t use gas for heating your home, you might be eligible for free energy efficiency upgrades from Stratford-on-Avon District Council. The grant can provide a range of insulation and green heating measures, all installed by certified contractors E.ON at no cost to you.

The Resourcing to Risk public consultation is now live and will stay open until 10 March 2024. You can find all the background material on the consultation website, which is www.warwickshire.gov.uk/ask. As well as information about the need for change, it has more detail on the proposed model, on-call availability data and response times.
Our latest news release can be found here Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Resourcing to Risk Consultation Opens – Warwickshire County Council
You can also find more information on resourcing to risk on our website https://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/warwickshire-fire-rescue-service/resourcing-risk
We would like to promote the consultation to all our stakeholders, which includes the public, our partners, suppliers, businesses, town and parish councils, etc. So please help us spread the message and share this in your newsletters, on social media and any other communication channels you use.
It is very important to us that everyone has a chance to give us their feedback. We would like to encourage members of the public, who live or work in Warwickshire, to take time to read all the information on the consultation website, and complete the online survey, which includes an opportunity to give general feedback or comments as well as answering the fixed questions.
Once the survey closes, we’ll collate all the feedback and use it to inform our future delivery approach.
Just a reminder, that you can also email us on WFRSR2R@warwickshire.gov.uk if you have any questions about the consultation.
We are holding five events in the new year – one each in Stratford, Kenilworth, Atherstone, Bedworth and Southam – to give the public an opportunity to learn more about the proposals. Places at the events must be booked and tickets went live last week on our Eventbrite page. Again, it would be fantastic if you could help promote these sessions.
The sessions are as follows:
The proposal is changing the way we respond to emergencies and provide fire cover in Warwickshire. It is important to ensure that our residents are fully aware of the proposal and have an opportunity to voice their views and share concerns.
